Does this Mother board have NVMe or does not? I would like to split the m.2 slots to 4 SATA slots is it possible with this? (the asrock n100 know it, but it has only external DC powersupply support)
Yes, nvme is supported in PCIe 3.0 x2 mode.
Thanks for the video. I was trying to find out if I can run a Coppermine Pentium 3 on that board and apparently I can.
Im going to do this
have you ever tried to upgrade the Vram? the PC versions had 64mb so swap the 32 for a 64 or 128 chip?
I don't have the skills or means to do that unfortunately.
@@nelizmastr I just got one of these things and I might try it.
Cool. Let me know if you manage to do it.
What is oldest (no Mac Pro) Macs you can upgrade 4gb ram? I have 09 Mac Mini. This is 4gb ram.
The oldest Mac is the late 2006 MacBook Pro, all Core Duo Macs are limited to 2GB.
Before my Core2Duo Mac Mini died (or the PSU did) it was already unusable for UA-cam and Netflix because it neither had the CPU power or hardware acceleration to decode the video. It was great for running emulators, as a music only media centre and I half made some music on it with Pro Tools LE and Reason but even with 8GB, an SSD boot drive and an external 7200rpm FireWire drive, it wasn’t very usable with later OS versions. Especially as I couldn’t even use Pro Tools LE anymore or the Mbox2 it came with using the last OS it supported. It felt super fast at first when I’d had a G3 Desktop and Dual 800Mhz Quicksilver G4 before it though. A guitarist friend uses a 2009 MacBook Pro with 8GB and an SSD boot drive with GarageBand to record entire songs including mastering using only an USB interface, his looper and outboard effects so depending on your needs, they’re still useful systems.
Late to the party, but I will upgrade my Lattitude with an SSD to try out Linux on it, before a very possible full migration once support for Windows 10 ends next year. Thanks for the video!
Should work decently well. Linux works surprisingly well on Core 2 era hardware.
What's wrong with screen resolution?
There’s no problem. It’s simply limited to 1024x600
@@nelizmastr but it's distorted, and circles are not round. Why is that? Is it fixable?

I used Windows XP and 7 on my EEE PC 901, since March 14, 2019, it runs on Windows 10. I'm going to have to quit W10 because they're going to stop updates. I'll have to install a Linux but I don't know which one to choose yet. My configuration: 2GB RAM and 120GB SSD. What Linux do you recommend ?
Any lightweight distro should work, like MX Linux, Lubuntu and more.
@@nelizmastr Thanks for the tip. About Lubuntu, I think it's not a good choice because now it doesn't support 32bits. I've discovered G4OS, I think I'll go for the latter when W10 support ends.

How many GB of ram does the M1 MacBook Air how?
The M1 can have 8 or 16GB.
@@nelizmastr how much ram is in the one you tested in this video?
Absolutely beautiful design, back when companies respected the user.
Got myself a MSI X58M aka MS7593 with i7-970, 24GB DDR3 and RTX 2060. Runs Windows 7 Pro like a charm. No way to get Windows 10 to install. Any help is welcome.
Very nice! I hope you feel better soon!
Thanks!
I like the design.👍👍

If the Rtx A1000 plays indie games like farming simulator and cities skylines, is it stable?
how did update the bios cus i cant get the iso file to burn onto my usb using rufus
You don’t update using an ISO, you use the utility that Lenovo provides.
@@nelizmastr but how do I do that externally on a usb
I tried it on the Synology RS1619xs+ but they would not run. Changing the speed on the settings didn't start it either. Any ideas?
Could be that they changed the pinout. Compare the wire colors with the originals and see if you can find a datasheet or something to confirm the voltage, ground, pwm and sense wires are in the same location.
Hey handsome my permanent favourite B.J.
Ive had one of these for years and it just up and stopped working the other day ? so I thought ill get a replacement nope for some reason here in the UK you have to pay a premium for this board?
It’s one of the earlier boards, and being as old as they are they are now rare and collectible. That’s the downside of the retro hobby. If you were in mainland Europe I could’ve probably given you a deal, but UK import/export duties are hefty since brexif.
I found this board , new old stock. I have a 1400 Thunderbird chip for it. I'll mess with it someday.
While they’re not particularly high-end, they’re very versatile and reasonably stable.
I have the same board but, the cpu fan it's very loud! 😮
Use a quieter fan or use a fan cable with a resistor such as those that come with Noctua fans
@@nelizmastr thanks for the advice! I replaced the fan of my dreamcast to a noctua and it's awesome! But i didn't notice that It has a resistor in its wire. Thanks i Will try some like that.
Buenisimo, me hace acordar a mi infancia :'D
i am getting the same mac pro would a asus rx 580 8gb work with this
Probably, yes. You’ll need to keep your original card when you need to have a bootscreen.
RTX Quadro GPUs make games .... Geforce GPUs play games :)
Well said!
Unless we're talking absolutely massive AAA Nanite worlds in Unreal, Quadro cards, especially the lower end ones, are mostly a scam. Back in the early days, they were the exact same hardware as the RTX cards with different firmware and "certified" drivers at merely double the price lol. You could (and I did) flash the firmware to convert an RTX to a Quadro. Although, obviously not through official channels. Once NVIDIA caught on to this, the next gen required a pin to be soldered in before you could flash the card. After that the hardware diverged, but their high price for no gain remained. On the very high, end it's a different story with GRAM capacity/ECC and tensor core options unavailable in the consumer range of cards... but at least you're being ripped off for a niche use case and unique specs. The net result was a slightly slower card even in the "certified" programs (probably from the unnoticed, higher precision floating point). At the time I was using Autocad and 3D Studio 2- 4. I experienced no improvement in stability although, to be fair, the cards ran perfectly well as RTX so I had nothing to compare it to. Anyway, the reason I'm here (and I appreciate the review, thank you to the channel) is that my company has these HPs listed as the only mobile option for content creators and I have no choice but to order them for new hires. I wanted to see how much the card sucked for the exorbitant price. Basically, low end previous gen tech at current mid range prices. If it seems I'm dunking on NVidia, ATI/AMDs Fire cards are/were even worse (if they still make them). Pretty sure they dropped the Quadro moniker because of the bad reputation they got from the bulk of pro users who worked out that a 1/2 price RTX gaming card did the same job.
These things make great personal webservers. I've been running my webserver on one for the past 15 years.
if you use the H264ify browser extension, you can get much better results from the video playback as it forces the youtube (and other HTML5 player sites) to use the computer's h264 hardware decoding. i set up my gf's old netbook with Peppermint linux and did the same thing with quite similar spec except i upgraded her to 2gb ram. i even set her up with VLC and used the Ice SSB kit from the OS to set up some sites as their own 'app' with pick of browser and extensions as an 'engine' so she could go to youtube or some cartoon streaming site without needing to waste space with the interface on screen. was good enough that she could take it to a con with her and use it for entertainment etc even plugging into her hotel room tv.
hi is any thing special for works only with dvd not pen drive? i tried many tipes linux and dosent works i don't have another mac to do on opencore . im waiting the dvd from amazon to do the last chance
This will only work with a DVD, yes. Macs with optical drives can’t boot Windows or Linux from USB without modifications.
@@nelizmastr tks for reply i also post to you a comment in another video asking how cable do you used to plug in monitor tks so much
how do you conect to the monitor? wich cable i need? my husband found this on garbage and im new with mac so im trying give life for this. tks
It depends on which connections the graphics card has. It can have a combination of many different ports. Most have one or more DVI ports (large white rectangle), others have mini-displayport (small almost square port) or HDMI or full Displayport (both black). You'll need a cable that fits those ports and can also connect to your monitor. If your monitor doesn't have DVI or Mini-displayport you'll need an adapter as well, i.e. DVI to VGA or Mini-displayport to DVI/HDMI/DP.
There's a Doom Eternal noavx2 patch. Works great on my 3,1. Forgot where I found it, sorry.
Are you still using it ?
Nope. The 16GB limitation made me upgrade years ago. Other than that, it’s been a great machine.
Im surprised UA-cam even runs on it. I still have this exact 32 bit Macbook Pro, just a paperweight for now. I used to game on it
I love these types of videos! The ugly mug jokes made me kinda sad, but you earned a sub!
Thanks!
i am watching this on a macbook pro from 2006 15 inch
If you ran windows xp with mypal today then it would run decent But i'd say don't spend too much on these laptops if you buy one I got one for 8 dollars i believe it was worth that price I didn't pay 50 bucks for it
Mypal is still too slow imo, years after making this video I can for sure say any single core CPU is now obsolete, all modern software is too bloated to run well.
@@nelizmastr but if someone wanted this type of laptop for old bloated software's of 90s and early 2000s then it would do pretty well right?
@Random-Man1384 yep, but nothing that requires the internet.
@@nelizmastr well it is a great retro gaming windows 98 laptop right? Unless the intel integrated gpu variant holds it back a lot?
@Random-Man1384 intel gma 900 can do UT99 in a pinch but not a lot more, luckily the Inspiron 9300 had a Geforce 6800.
I believe the a1000 is built more on the productivity rather than gaming, overall I like the review, thank you so much!
The only attractive feature of these boards is the 6W TDP. If you need a lot of lanes, you should probably go for the infamous Erying motherboards with mobile CPUs.
The cpu is too weak to handle anything that requires performance anyway, so I guess it serves its purpose fine in the low end power efficiency market.
@@nelizmastr Another alternative would be the Core i3 N305 which has 8 cores but the same limitations as the N100. Maybe the Intel 300. You lose 2 cores but you gain 20 PCIe lanes.
How to update from 10.7 ?
You can’t update as such as it’s unofficial. That said, you can’t update within mountain lion anymore so it’s useless.
the most beautiful display on the planet earth !
perfect, a new life for macbook pro :)
Tengo una igual pero no sé cómo instalarle Windows tienes algún vídeo para seguir los pasos ? Help me please..
hola, tengo la misma duda, encontraste algo, que me puedas pasar?
@@arlyn2476 saludos! No, me recomendaron usar un disco SSD. No lo he hecho todavía, pero creo que tiene sentido.
Thanks, great stuff. Just got my hands on 4 of those bad boys. They will be a good addition to my home lab.
I have this motherboard and using it on my Windows 98SE retro PC. Asrock 775i65g r3.0 is more weird as that motherboard are compatible with E7xxx Wolfdale Core 2 Duo cpus.
So do I need additional stuff to use my thinclient as a desktop? I can’t even get into my corporate system…. I paid for this myself and would like to use it now that I’m no longer with my company
You need at least access to the BIOS/UEFI because you can't boot from a Windows/Linux installer, so it can't have a BIOS password. Also, I'd recommend replacing the internal drive and upgrading the memory unless your thin client already has at least 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.
hey bro you still alive? i got this wheel for really cheap but i am unable to plug in the pedals to the wheels. the rj 11 just wont go in into the wheel! the rj 11 port in the wheel is centered, i mean the small plastic part on the rj 11 head, but the rj 11 that is coming out from the pedals isnt center aligned, the rj 11 heads plastic is on the left side, please help i am unable to plug in, or should i instead cut the head and use a new rj 11 with center alligned head? thanks bruh
If it doesn’t fit, you might have pedals that don’t belong to this wheel. I’ve thrown mine out many years ago.
I have this same mb, i updated the bios to 8.19 and was able to install a zotac gtx 1650 running at pcie 3.0 speeds, an i7 3770, 16 gb of ram running at 1600 mhz and an axe3000h mini pcie network card with an ax210 chip, just letting people know cause there is little information on the internet about this board and some turned out to be inaccurate or downright false.
